Call to action number six calls upon the government of Canada to remove section 43 of the criminal code of Canada as it allows parents and teachers to use “reasonable force” against a child in order to correct behaviour. This is a concern because it offers a defence to parents or teachers who physically abuse children in their care. The implementation of this would be a simple as revising section 43 of the criminal code of Canada, which is something that many believe to be outdated as it stands today.
